practical info

We are located in the lovely country village of Vale de Santiago in the south of Portugal, near the small town of Colos.

The course will take place in the village school, but mostly we will be out in the field filming.

Course hours are from 9 to 12 and 14 to 17 hours.

There is a village café where students can eat at 11 euros for a full meal. The school also has a basic kitchen where you can cook your own meals if you wish. There is a small supermarket in the village. You can also prepare food at your accommodation or go out to another village for a meal.

Accommodation is in the Casa da Lua guesthouse in the village where you can either sleep in a dorm with the other students (price included in the course fee) or rent a private room.

There are plenty of cheap international flights to both Lisbon and Faro.

Our village is near the station of Funcheira on the Lisbon to Faro intercity line which has four trains a day.

The train trip takes about two hours from both Lisbon or Faro and costs about €20. More information can be found at www.cp.pt

We will pick you up there on Saturday evening and you will leave again on Sunday morning eight days later.

Of course you can also also rent a car at the airport which will enable you to explore the area or go to the beach in the late afternoon or early evening when temperatures are great in the summer. The drive to the sea is about 30 minutes.

Please be aware that in the south of Portugal summer temperatures can be between 35 and 40°. At night the temperature goes down to about 20°.
